Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Passed Away in an LA Car Crash
Vince Zampella, who helped create the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in the state of California he was 55 years old.
Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.
The influential industry figure passed away following his automobile collided and caught fire on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, US media outlets report.
"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with Vince's family, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," an official with Electronic Arts commented.
