The Blue Jays Secure Fall Classic Matchup Against the Dodgers
Springer previously helped the Astros winning the World Series in the 2017 season.
Toronto's Blue Jays advanced to their first World Series after 1993 by overcoming the Seattle Mariners in the seventh game seven of the American League Championship Series.
Behind 3-1, the star outfielder hit a three-run blast in the seventh frame, propelling the sole Canadian team in MLB to a 4-3 win in the best-of-seven series. They will now face the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are the current crown, in the upcoming Fall Classic.
"I'm thrilled for our team, our city, the nation," commented Springer, an integral part of the Houston Astros team that claimed the 2017 title. "It's truly an amazing experience."
Springer has now hit 23 total playoff homers, placing him third on the list after Ramirez (29) and Altuve (27).
"There's probably not anyone else in the world that I'd prefer in that situation other than George Springer with his October magic," said Schneider.
The Mariners, who had led the early in the series, continue to be the only MLB franchise that has never reached in a championship series.
Mariners manager Dan Wilson stated "without a doubt that it's painful" after his team's loss at Rogers Centre, but praised their performance this season.
"They're an exceptional squad. It's a shame that we ended up on the unsuccessful side of this one," he added.
Toronto's team won the title on each of their earlier trips in 1992 and 1993, and are set to host the Los Angeles in game one on this Friday.
