It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the record chasers, are what's still available for a team that has achieved everything.

The fact it required up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their hitters to possess a record if never given the possibility.

Finally, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to produce her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India temporarily stopped the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the case for final game tension. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was much more difficult to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this innings came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it has been a frustrating experience because it seemed my form was missing completely," said Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit kick in and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from there Healy was underway.

"The possibility to take the field and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself that way, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was out the team required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the assurance to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we believe we can achieve it."

Those words will be the final thing competing nations at this tournament want to hear.

In recent days a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph following win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a significant event.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this championship is likely to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as skipper.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
