Football Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match winning run was ended by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, however can the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, fans and a range of guests.

For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's sole away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was still Forest manager.

So, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.

My son advised me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the road this season, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have have lots of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's home record, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
