Passionate fans of the pop star are urging that a individual who jumped a fence and seized the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.

A widely shared clip shows the Australian man pushing past media personnel and rushing toward Grande while the actors walked down a yellow carpet flanked by onlookers.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the surprised performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the premiere by guards.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being detained", though legal records revealed that he was scheduled to be present on the following morning. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.

History of Incidents

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram feed includes clips of him disturbing other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers event in the area last winter.

"There needs to be action applied against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," stated an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Followers Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Well-being

Numerous fans accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said one more comment on Instagram.

Several attendees also criticised guards at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals requested online networks to block Mr Wen's uploads.

Aftermath and Event Details

In clips spreading on the internet, Grande appeared startled when she was approached by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.

The movie, to be premiered on November 21, is the sequel of a two-film version of the acclaimed theatrical show Wicked, which revolves around the surprising relationship between two very different sorceresses.

The production itself is a derivative of the classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a light pink sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the Elphaba, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful movie of last year in the UK, and scored ten award recognitions, winning two for outstanding attire and production design.
