Brian Eno Encourages Backing to Get Together for Palestine Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign hopes to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to support Palestinians during the holidays. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It occupies a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Production History and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded after a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the rendition was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The impressive roster of artists appearing on Lullaby includes a selection of well-known figures from the industry. All were part of the benefit event, which managed to collect a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was crafted by a group of music creators. The single showcases a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with freshly written English words.

The team running the initiative have stated that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These proceeds will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a figure commented. “We aim for whatever we can get. Naturally, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was characterized as its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of infrastructure reportedly destroyed or damaged.

“In that context, a few million won't make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is above all raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a digital service from mid-December.
